Pumpkin Decorating Ideas Book Characters
We are headed to the pumpkin patch next weekend. I started brainstorming decorating ideas for when an idea hit me!
There are so many neat pumpkins designed to look like character's from children's books. But, how about letting a children's book inspire the pumpkin creation?
Here are some book ideas I came up with. Let me know which ones you think I should try!
BOOK INSPIRED PUMPKING DECORATING

One of my favorite books from 2013 was The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt. Crafty Morning shares a melted crayon pumpkin that would be a perfect tie-in to the book. (top left image)
Swirl by Swirl: Spirals by Nature by Joyce Siman is a fascinating look at all the spiral shaped things you find in nature. Little Bins for Little Hands shows us an easy way to decorate a spiral pumpkin. (bottom left image)
The little boy in I Ain't Gonna Paint No More! by Karen Beaumont paints a lot of things including the walls and himself. Channel that painting desire with this pumpkin painting idea from Homegrown Friends. (top right image)
After reading Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf by Lois Ehlert, let nature inspire your pumpkin creation. Stir the Wonder tells us how to create nature pumpkins. (middle left image)
The Dot by Peter Reynolds is an inspirational book in so many ways. Let it inspire your mosaic pumpkin decorating too with this idea from Glued to My Crafts. (bottom right image)
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr. would pair great with this alphabet pumpkin from The Imagination Tree. (middle right image)

I want to try all of these ideas. Follow me on Instagram, to see which ones our family decides to create!
